Baggage Service

AirAsia passengers are allowed free carry-on baggage allowance however, allowance for checked baggage must be pre-booked/purchased. The parameters of allowance for every passenger are based on the AirAsia Baggage Policy and limits are:

  • AirAsia Carry-On Baggage: AirAsia passengers can bring 2 items/pieces of luggage as carry-on baggage; the total weight of the 2 carry-on baggage should not be over 7kg, and their liner dimension (L+W+H) must be within 56x36x23 centimeters or 40x30x10 centimeters. The carry-on baggage must be a size that fits within the overhead storage compartment or beneath the seat in front of the passenger.
  • AirAsia Check Baggage: As mentioned earlier, passengers choosing to fly with AirAsia must pre-book/purchase baggage allowance for checked baggage. Passengers who have made their bookings with AirAsia Premium Flex / Premium Flatbed / Value Pack need not purchase/pre-book any checked baggage allowance as it is already included in their ticket fare.
    Passengers of AirAsia India i5 flights have a checked baggage free allowance of up to 15kg which is included in their ticket fare. The allowance range for checked baggage offered by AirAsia is listed below:

All cancellation requests can be made online, either through the AirAsia website or the AirAsia Super app. For passengers who might be facing difficulty while cancelling their booking/ticket online, they can alternatively visit or call the AirAsia Office. Cancellation charges, if any, are based on the ticket/fare type and subject to AirAsia Cancellation Policy and AirAsia Refunds Policy as stated at the time of booking.

AirAsia passengers can check-in for their flights through one of the followings methods:

  • Online Check-in:
    The online check-in feature is available to all AirAsia passengers, through this option passengers can check-in for a flight at any point between 14 days and up to 1 hour before their intended flight is set to depart. The online check-in is done through either the AirAsia website or the AirAsia Super App for mobile/tablets/iPad. [AirAsia i5 passengers should use the AirAsia India website or mobile application.]
  • Airport Check-in:
    For those passengers who would rather check-in at the airport, they must arrive at least 3 hours before their flight is set to depart. Passengers should locate the AirAsia Airport Counter and check-in through their, the check-in stops 1 hour prior to take-off. [***All AirAsia Passengers who have requested the use of Special Assistance Service or Travelling with baby/babies or Unaccompanied Minors MUST check-in at the AirAsia Airport Counter in-person.]
