Booking

Baggage Allowance

Hand Baggage Allowance

Economy class – Till 12 kg weight including one hand baggage item and one accessory.

Premium Economy / Business class – Till 18 kg weight including two hand baggage items and one accessory.

Please note that the dimension of one hand baggage item should not be more than 115 cm i.e., 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

The dimension of one accessory should not be more than 40cm x 30cm x 15cm.

If your baggage exceeds the above limit, it will have to be checked at the counter. 

Checked Baggage Allowance

The maximum weight allowed is:

Economy / Premium Economy Class – 23 kg 

Business Class – 32 kg

The dimension of a single piece should not be more than 158 cm. 

Exceeding the above limit will result in re-packing your baggage, or paying an extra baggage fee, or sending the baggage as cargo. 

Prepaid Excess Baggage

Save time by purchasing extra baggage in advance. It can also be purchased at the airport.

Airport Check-in

Visit the Vietnam Airlines check-in counter at the airport and keep ready your travel documents to be shown there. It may be noted that you need to check in anywhere between 2 hours and 40 minutes before departure time, in the case of domestic flights, while it is between 3 hours and 50 minutes, in the case of international flights. But, if you are going to board the flight from Frankfurt Airport, Charles de Gaulle Airport, or Heathrow Airport, the check-in time will be over 60 minutes before the flight departure time.

Online Check-in

To mark your check-in online, visit the website of Vietnam Airlines and go to the Check-in tab on the home page. Enter details based on the Reservation Code, eTicket Number, or Frequent Flyer Number, and go ahead with the check-in.

Telephone Check-in

This facility is available on the hotline number 1900 6265 that remains open from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm every day. You need to tell the agent your reservation code, ticket number, or frequent flyer card number. Then you need to confirm your itinerary information and proceed with seat selection. You may inform them whether you wish to receive the boarding pass through email or directly at the check-in counter located at the airport.

This facility is open from 12 to 2 hours before the flight departure. If you have baggage, you need to get it checked at the airport’s check-in counter. In case of no baggage, you are allowed to directly go toward the security area.

Cancellation and Refund

You can cancel your ticket by selecting the “Cancel Segment” showing under the “Manage Booking” tab on the homepage of the airline’s website. Please note that a no-show charge is applied to cancellations made within 3 hours before departure. Special Assistance

The same applies if the expected delivery time is within 7 days before departure, or within 7 days after delivery.
