Following are the charges/fees applicable for checked baggage which is overweight/oversized:

  • Checked baggage weight: 23 to 32kg [50-70lb]: $100 CAD/USD
  • Checked baggage linear dimension(L+W+H): 158 to 292 centimeters [63 to 115 inches]: $100 CAD/USD
  • A $100 CAD/USD fee is charged only once if a bag is overweight and oversized.
  • If a $225 CAD/USD extra baggage fee is already paid, no additional overweight/oversized charges need to be paid.

Pet Travel Service

Pets/animal companions are allowed on board Air Canada flights, subject to Air Canada Pet Policy.

Passengers travelling with a pet/animal companion must comply to the following:

  • One pet/animal companion per passenger is permitted within the passenger cabin.
  • Pet/Animal Companion [Cat or Dog] must be small enough to stand, turn around and lie down inside their carrier/container under the seat in front of the passenger.
  • Pet/animal companion must be at least 12 weeks old at the time of flight and well behaved/trained.
  • Carrier/Container Specifications:
    • Maximum Size – Linear Dimension (L+W+H) must be less than equal to 292 centimeters / 115 inches.
    • Maximum Weight – Pet/Animal companion and kennel, combined should weigh less than equal to 45kg / 100lb.

    • In Aircraft Cabin
      • Within Canada and Canada/U.S.A. (except Hawaii): $50 – $59 CAD/USD 
      • International: $100 – $118 CAD/USD
    • In Baggage Compartment
      • Within Canada and Canada/U.S.A. (except Hawaii): $105 – $120.75 CAD/USD
      • International: $270 – $318.60 CAD/USD

  • Passengers would not be permitted to travel with a pet/animal companion in the passenger cabin if:
    • Passenger is seated at an exit/ bulkhead row.

    • The passenger is in the Air Canada Business Class cabin of Air Canada Boeing 737 MAX 8 (7M8) aircraft.

Cancellation Service

As per Air Canada Cancellation Policy, passengers who wish to cancel their existing booking for an Air Canada flight are subject to the following specifications:

  • Air Canada ticket cancellations within 24 hours from the time of booking are completely refundable.
  • Air Canada ticket cancellations outside the 24-hour frame are subject to the rules and regulations of Air Canada as highlighted during the time of booking.
  • Air Canada flight tickets booked through a travel agent/agency/website; passengers need to contact them directly to request cancellations.
